Dear Mr Davidson

Thank you for your recent letter outlining your concerns regarding the installation of TETRA masts in your area. I am grateful to you for sharing with me your views and concerns on this matter, which has also been an issue of debate locally and nationally for some time.

You are clearly well acquainted with the current evidence, discussions and views about TETRA masts. In light of your letter and those of other local residents, I have consulted with colleagues in the Surrey Sussex Health Protection Agency, who link with the National Radiological Protection Board and other relevant agencies and shared with them your correspondence. The Surrey Sussex Health Protection Agency provide me with expert public health support and advice on such health protection matters. They will contact you shortly to clarify some of the issues you have raised with respect to the possible health impacts of TETRA masts and their local implications.

You have also described to me in your letter some recent medical symptoms. I would like to suggest that you contact your local general practitioner who will be in a good position to assess your health and advise you individually as required.

Yours sincerely

Dr Farhang Tahzib
Director of Public Health
